Taking a chance on change

Are you feeling stuck in your current life? Do you have a desire to make a change, but feel overwhelmed by the thought of taking a chance on a dream? We often find ourselves feeling stuck and uncertain of what the future holds. But taking a shot at changing your life can be a rewarding experience.

I was starting to feel a lack of joy in my career as a dental hygienist and after healing from my trauma felt that I had a greater purpose in my life.  I had a desire to help others but didn’t know where to start.  I managed to dig up enough money to take a business class I was barely in a position to afford but something felt right.  I spent the next year learning how to own and run a business.  I learned about business plans, marketing, social media messaging, blogging, vision planning and more.  I joined a community of other business owners and meet twice a month to celebrate wins and tackle challenges together.  One day I woke up and felt like my time had come…time for a change.

I walked into my bosses office with tears in my eyes.  I literally had the best job in the world and that day I gave my notice.  The Universe was speaking to my soul and I wanted to help people find joy through movement, help them improve their personal relationships, help them heal from past trauma and help them achieve their fitness goals with fewer injuries through learning how to love themselves and learn how to listen to their body.  I suddenly found myself being a coach, an event planner and a tour guide!  I have never had a harder job and have never enjoyed work as much as I do now.  I took a chance on change.

So how do you even start?

First, it’s important to recognize that change isn’t inherently risky. Instead, it’s about embracing the potential for growth and taking the necessary steps to make a change. Making a change is about being brave and trusting that the rewards will outweigh the risks. When it comes to making a life-changing decision, it’s important to be open and honest with yourself about what you want and need. Take some time to think about what kind of change you’re looking for, and what steps you need to take to make it happen.

Consider the pros and cons of your decision and the potential impact it could have. Once you’ve made the decision to make a change, it’s important to develop a plan and set goals. Having a plan can help keep you motivated and on track. Be sure to set realistic expectations and break your goals down into smaller, achievable steps. It’s also important to remember that change is a process. It won’t happen overnight and there may be setbacks along the way. Don’t be discouraged if you encounter obstacles or if things don’t go as planned. Instead, use these experiences as learning opportunities and try to stay positive.

Don’t forget to take care of yourself. Changing your life can be a stressful and overwhelming experience. Make sure to take time for yourself to relax and recharge. Changing your life can be a scary and intimidating experience. But it can also be extremely rewarding. By taking the time to assess your situation, set realistic goals, and take care of yourself, you can make a positive change. So don’t be afraid to take a chance and trust that the rewards will be worth it.

If you are looking to live a healthier life and a healthier view of who and what you are I would love to help you!  I enjoy helping people find movement in their lives while building confidence and giving them the courage to see how wonderful they are.
